Glider Design, Build, and Flight Test

A team flight-stability project involving AVL analysis, Octave automation, physical fabrication, and flight testing.

Description

For a flight stability and control project, our team designed an aircraft geometry in AVL and evaluated dimensional and non-dimensional aerodynamic derivatives. I wrote Octave scripts to automate AVL geometry-file generation, allowing faster iteration through center of gravity, lifting-surface placement, and weight distribution.

We built the aircraft from balsa wood and 3D-printed components, then flight-tested it. The project connected analytical predictions with fabrication constraints and real flight behavior.
