Converging-Diverging Nozzle

A nozzle designed in SolidWorks, analyzed in ANSYS, manufactured with 3D printing, and tested in a wind tunnel.

Description

Our team designed a converging-diverging nozzle in SolidWorks and used ANSYS for preliminary compressible-flow analysis. We then manufactured the nozzle using 3D printing and tested it in a subsonic wind tunnel.

The project was a useful lesson in prototype limitations because the testing environment could not fully reproduce the compressible-flow regime the nozzle was theoretically designed for.
